Lingy gone into hiding

Family

If you had seen the meltdown by my father, you will be terrified. He's ain't the goody old folk who'd otherwise say yes to everything.

You can feel his anger, from the protruding veins on his forehead and neck, to his repetitive harsh sentences and ending off with suicidal threats. At times, I was thrown off by his wrath, trying to calm his temper when he came charging like a raging bull.

He had too many disappointments and I found myself asking if we, as children, have done enough for him. Yes, he has failed us in certain aspects in life, like not getting us a head-start by living with a silver spoon, or be financially free going through universities. But this forced us to be independent in the earlier part of our lives so we grew up to be responsible and not sponging on our parents.

I had to do what I did to sustain the family. Because if I let it slide, things will not change with the recurring arrears and warning letters. The cycle has to stop somewhere; I chose to be the villian. If you were me, you would have done the same thing too. I only ask for everyone to be responsible to what they have pledged to fulfil for the family.
