Hippy happy granny

I met a hippest grandmother today at the food market. 

The 83 year old grandma and I had a brief conversation while I joined her table during lunch. 

She asked, 'are you Singaporean?', then went on to lament how crowded this city is now. I later learnt that she's living in America with her daughter and granddaughter. Her friend asked her if she gets to eat Yong Tau Foo in the food court in America. She said she will cook for herself once in awhile but her granddaughter does not eat anything aside from Amercian food. 

Then the gen-Y killer question came, 'are you married?'

'No.' 

But reply made me raised my brows.

'Better don't. Travel around the world first.' 

In the midst of the CNY approaching, most had anticipated the elders rattling on about settling down, having children blah. But she is different; being able to relate to the gen Y. I wished more grannys are like you!
