Singapore Airlines Cabin Crew Interview

For the benefits of asipiring people who wishes to join the cabin crew of SIA, here is the guide to prepare yourself for the interview.

The entire first round of interview takes 6 hours. Make sure you have reserved your time to see through it.

Registration by filling up the application forms online and prepare the relevant documents.

You will be assigned to a group of ten and seated in the hotel ballroom. This is the prelude to the introductory round. You will be asked to introduce yourself in front of a panel of 2 interviewers. Most of the time, a question will be asked to test your communication and proficiency in English. The content is not the key here, but rather it's the presentation. Samples of questions like, 'What fruit do you like', 'Name a country you'd like to visit most', 'Name an inspiring person in your life'.

For those who qualify, you'll be guided to take your height. Thereafter, you'll be asked to try to reach for a marking on the wall without infringing a tape mark on the floor. You can stretch utmost with your arms or tiptoe, as long as you are able to reach it.

Next, you will have to get your documents checked for authenticity. This is usually a smooth sail.

The next station is the terrifying skin check. It will be held in a small room with stations of 2 spot lights projecting from the ground. The interviewer would ask you some simple questions while looking at your face to check for your complexion and smile. She would ask you to remove your watch or accessories to check for any scars, birthmarks on your lower arms. And lastly, the back of your neck for any tattoos. The people who made it through will be re-group and send to the next round- one-to-one interview. Questions asked will be based on your reactions to problem solve some sticky situations on board, e.g. A newly wed business class couple who wanted to be seated together on a full flight; your colleague approached you for a faulty in-flight entertainment system; your passenger complained of space constraints. The 'survivors' will make it through to the second day interview held in the SIA training centre.

Day 2
All the candidates will be seated in a theater, and groups of 6 will be called in. You will be tested on team-bonding and your reflexes in the form of cross introductory of your partner, a passage reading and your capability to marshal up your thoughts to give an opinion of your own following a topic. 

This would be the final round as candidates who breeze through gets to fit on the kebaya (for ladies) or early briefing (for guys). After you changed into the kebaya and sandals (together in a room with other successful candidates), you will be instructed to walk a short distance and the staff will be checking on your gait, posture, hands, arms, back of your neck. Sometimes they would verify your height and weight or give you some friendly advises.

Alas, they will brief you through the training program, check your documents again and present you with a letter to go for a medical check-up within the next 2 days. The second round interview takes 4.5 hours.
