24-11-13' Staying afloat

It has been an arduous journey.

People came, cried and left. It's disheartening to see people trying hard but being pinned down on their mistakes. Isn't this probation period for them to learn instead of being reprimanded? Isn't this an adaption period for them to orientate themselves to the organization?

Stop the vicious cycle. Start the first step by being impartial.

24-11-13' Innisfree and Orbis!

I was thrilled when I saw Cleo featuring Innisfree shop opening soon in sg! I bought their mineral no-sebum powder from qoo10 and was amazed by how it kept my make-up shine-free!

So on Friday, despite a long day at work, I went down with my sis to the grand opening of innisfree at Takashimaya. Free membership and gifts with purchases were irresistible (to auntie like me)!

The products emphasize on Eco and pure derivatives from the vegetation in Jeju Seoul. I bought the volcanic pore clay mask (one of top seller; much raved online by users), pure green tea sleep on moisturizer, and a couple of capsule masks. Received a green tea pure dulex set. I've tried on the green tea series and love the light smell and moisturing capabilities! I have a feeling that my Fancl moisturizer is gonna sit on the bench for quite some time.

Orbis skin care is in town too! It's from Japan and I've heard about the good reviews on its masks (being comparable to SK-II for a fraction of its price). It's formulas are oil-free and is suitable for acne people- this excites me! As people knows I often have outbreaks, this might be my savior, lol. I went to the boutique in Robinsons and the assisting staff says that my skin doesn't appear to need help with acne. Though I agree that it has gotten a tad better with the treatments I've been through but the thoughts of recurrence still cast deep fears in me. She suggested the moisture range and I bought the series except for the night cream. The price is so much lower than I expected! Shall try on this line after Innisfree.

With these new and promising skin care on our shores, I'm so happy! It spells woes on my pocket though, haha.

14-11-13' UOL

Into year 2 and I'm spending 4/7 days a week in school.

I realised the vast difference in the attitudes of lecturers.

Some says part time students are a bad lot who pulls the passing rate down. A group without motivation and gives excuses for not attending class, handing up assignments, zoning out during lectures. All these, attributes to poor self discipline, which I agree.

Some lecturers, on the contrary, likes part time students more. They sympathize with the workload the students have and therefore make exceptions for them, e.g open book tests, deferment for assignments.

I have my OTIA lecturer belonging to the first. A great teacher who will go all out to help students to cope with exams. As much as he is harsh on part time students, he could be working on reversed psychology to make us study harder.

My Intro to Econs, Macro Econs lecturers go to the second group. They are encouraging and nurturing. They might not noticed but their words help to make our efforts appreciated.

Well, if one could choose, who would not chose to study full time? If one could choose to only focus on study, who would want to shuttle between workplace and school? We are trying to make ourselves a better person at a less favorable starting point.

14-11-13' Plastic surgery

The number of people who went under the knives in the name of beauty has increased tremendously. I knew some who went for nose fillers, vitamin c whitening jabs, breast implants, nose implant, double eyelids and the list goes on.

The extent of aesthetic surgeries are massive- where does the distinction lies between jaw recontouring and doing braces? You couldn't quite draw the line since both requires alteration to the bone of the jaws, except the argument that the latter is less invasive and more common.

I'm happy to share the results they achieved and understand the addiction to the path of perfection. If this helps in esteem and poses minimal risks, by all means go for it!
