04-12-07 - 11-12-07` melbourne.
to melbourne.
we have to transit at perth, from its domestic airport to melbourne. with intervals of 5 hours ad 2 hours respectively for the departure and return trip. the whole journey is intensified with the rush to get ourselves on the plane without much cockups which we had a hard time achieving. we were told by the service crew we might miss our flight to sing when qantas are unable to retrieve our e-ticket from their system. -_-"
cast the adrenaline aside, the boom is that we were able to board the planes 4 times, have 4 'aero-meals'. not to mention the few hours of sightseeing in perth airport. and of cos, keyed into my little brain of wonders the presence of domestic airports.
the post box!
we were led to the cunningham pier. the sun is blazing (as u can see how bright the pictures turn out to be), but the weather is surprisingly super cooooling!
the airjet. it carries u to tour around the area - serves the same like our sampan along the merlion / clark quay.
lots of these similar pillars at the pier!
there's buildings solely for ripcurl, roxy, billabong! whoooopie!
we had a stay over in a motel in Apollo Bay before heading to the Otway Fly Treetop Walk and Triple Falls.
the trails are linked up with metal bridges like this. given its ampitude, its kinda scary for those weak hearts or with height phobia.
the treetop! its equviliant to 12 storeys high.
my first ever experience of trekking to see a waterfall! the entire route (loop) takes about an hour. u can expect nothing other than insects, steps, insects and steps.
Along Great Ocean road, we will pass by Lorne before Apollo Bay. this was taken on our way back to mel, presenting to u, Lorne.
just look at the sea! CYSTAL CLEAR! (see that guy? almost all the ang mo-s u see are of model built. *drools)
the 2nd last day we hit down town. the city will need 1 - 2 hours travelling time (totally different from sg where u can go to the city anytime u want.)
After 2 hours of driving and half an hour of getting lost, we finally get to Philips Island for 'pengunin parade'.
this is the signage placed before the exit. (hky would love this sign!) no photo-taking were allowed in the pengunin arena. :( the pengunins came to the shore widdling at approxi 6.50pm. they will gather round until they have a grp of 5 then they will queue up nicely and walk back to their barracks.
we also went to Berry field for some cherry harvesting! pluck as much as u want (and pay later by grams which makes it not so cheap afterall)
it feels like u can reach the sky and touch the clouds.
if i chop a cherry tree, would that makes me a presiden like washinton? LOL
1/2 bucketfull!
as a devoted fan of KFC, we drove all the way out (without any maps or directories!) to find 'uncle'!
it looks more grand isnt it?
all the KFCs differs globally. thats why we are willing to venture out to find this junkie. only original receipe available; no whipped potato (they call it marshed potato); fat cajun fries (unlike our poker fries)
